PKI Celebrates Graduates of Inclusive Hebrew Language Program

Project Kesher Israel celebrated the graduation of its pioneering “Ulpan Beyond Gender” program, created for Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking LGBTQ+ immigrants and refugees. Led by educator and Ben-Gurion University doctoral student Nadya Aizner, the program recognized that learning Hebrew is about more than language; it is about building confidence, identity, and belonging in a new society.

Designed to address the unique challenges LGBTQ+ immigrants face in a gendered language, the course provided a supportive space where participants could strengthen their Hebrew while learning to navigate Israeli life without hiding who they are. Following its success, PKI hopes to expand this innovative initiative, helping even more newcomers build connection, confidence, and community.
