Bat Yam Women’s Group Explores Israeli Democracy Ahead of Elections
As Israel prepares for upcoming elections, Project Kesher Israel’s Bat Yam women’s group, gathered for an engaging conversation about the country’s political system and the importance of civic participation.
Led by PKI board member and Petah Tikva City Council Deputy Margarita Slavkin, the discussion explored how the Knesset is formed, the role of coalition governments, the electoral threshold, and why every vote matters. Participants also examined current political trends and discussed the importance of women’s representation and diverse voices in public leadership.
The lively exchange offered participants the opportunity to ask questions, share perspectives, and deepen their understanding of the democratic process. Programs like these help strengthen civic engagement, encourage informed participation, and empower women to play an active role in shaping Israel’s future.
