Discussing Gender & Tradition

Rabbinical student and PKI Development Coordinator Michal Kireev led a thought-provoking discussion with the PKI women’s group in Haifa on the topic “The Torah and the Wife.” Participants explored the orthodox roots of attitudes toward wives in Jewish texts and how these teachings shaped gender stereotypes over centuries.

While many traditional guidelines no longer reflect contemporary life, Michal emphasized that understanding their historical context is essential for challenging outdated norms and fostering a deeper appreciation of the evolving role of women in society.
