PKI Advocates for Immigrant LGBTQ+ Communities at the Knesset

On June 2, Project Kesher Israel joined leaders and advocates from across the country at LGBTQ+ Rights Day at the Knesset, participating in discussions about the future of equality, inclusion, and community support in Israel.

The event highlighted an ongoing challenge: the unique experiences and needs of Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking LGBTQ+ immigrants are often missing from broader conversations about LGBTQ+ rights and services. As waves of migration continue to bring people to Israel fleeing war, persecution, and anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination, many newcomers face significant barriers related to language, cultural accessibility, integration, and access to support systems.

PKI is working to ensure that these communities have a strong and visible voice within Israel’s LGBTQ+ landscape. From supporting immigrants through the aliyah process to advocating for inclusive services and community spaces, PKI is helping build a future where every LGBTQ+ person can access the support, dignity, and sense of belonging they deserve—regardless of the language they speak or the country from which they arrived.
